The row gives the reason: the file is larger than 100 MB, it's empty, it's already in this batch, or its type isn't supported. Send leases as PDF, and lease data as Excel, CSV or JSON.
Fix a Failed Upload
When a file can't be sent or read, its row says why and what to do. Every error also shows a reference: include it if you contact support. Find your case below.
Files that weren't sent
My file shows Not Added
I can't add more files to this upload
One upload takes up to 25 files and 280 MB in total. Send the rest as a second upload.
My session expired, or the page was open too long
Reload the page, sign in again, and add your files again.
It says I'm sending too quickly
Wait a minute, then send again.
It says I don't have permission to upload leases
Your role doesn't include Upload documents. Ask an Owner or Admin for access.
The upload could not reach Leasecake
Check your connection and send again.
Files that were sent but need you
We read leases only from a PDF
The lease was sent in another format, such as Word. Upload the signed lease as a PDF.
We could not read any text in this file
The PDF is a scan with no readable text. Re-scan it, delete the draft lease it started, then upload the new scan.
This document does not look like a lease
The file is an amendment, an addendum or another document, not a lease. Delete the draft it started and keep the document: Upload Leases can't attach supporting documents. An amendment's terms are never applied to a lease automatically.
We read your document but could not fill in this lease
Fill the draft lease in yourself, or contact support.
A lease already exists for this file
Remove the file, or contact support if you think it's a different lease.
We could not accept this file
The file failed our malware check. Contact support if that's unexpected.
We could not finish reading or checking this file
Sending it again won't help. Contact support with the reference on the row.
