Build and Export Reports
Build a report on the Reports page, either from a template in the Library or from scratch on a portfolio or accounting dataset. Saved reports live on the Reports tab, where you can open them again for fresh results and download them as Excel or CSV.
Anyone who can view leases or lease accounting can open Reports. The rows a report returns are scoped to the data you are allowed to see, so two people running the same report can get different results.
Build a report from the Library
The Library offers report templates grouped under Lease Administration and Lease Accounting. Each card shows the template's name, the question it answers, and explanatory text. A template appears only when you can access its dataset.
A template is a saved configuration, not a preview: it presets the dataset, report name, columns, filters, sorting, grouping, totals, and summary widgets, and the Library shows no results before you create the report.
In LeaseOS, go to Reports and open the Library tab.
Find the template card that answers your question and click Use Template.
If the template needs an accounting standard, a panel opens asking for it. Choose the standard and click Create Report. Templates that do not need one create the report immediately.
The report is saved under its preset name and opens at its report page. If a saved report with identical settings already exists, LeaseOS reuses it instead of creating a duplicate.
Template examples: Critical Dates & Option Notices presets notice categories and deadline-status filters; Cash Rent Forecast filters for payments due in the next 12 months and shows columns labeled Due, Location, Charge, and Amount; Payment Schedule & Exceptions filters for the current month. Accounting templates include Amortization Schedules and Journal Entries & GL Export.
Build a report from scratch
A report built from scratch starts from a dataset and returns the fields you pick, filtered the way you need. Changing the dataset clears the columns and filters you have already chosen, so pick the dataset first.
Start a new report on the Reports page and choose a dataset, such as leases, critical dates, payments, or journal lines.
Choose at least one field for the report's columns.
Add filters if you want to narrow the results. Filters are optional, except that a report on an accounting dataset must specify an accounting standard.
Give the report a name. The name is required and can be up to 255 characters.
Save the report. It opens at its report page with the results.
Re-run and export a saved report
Saved reports appear on the Reports tab. Opening a saved report runs it against current data, so a report you re-run each period returns fresh results every time.
To export, use the export action in the results table's header. You can download the report as an Excel workbook or a CSV file; Excel is the default format.
Only the creator of a report can update it, delete it, share it, or schedule it. Reports can be shared with individual users, and sharing across the organization can be turned on for a report.

The My Favorite Reports card on your dashboard lists report templates for your focus. Running a template from the dashboard saves and opens the report, the same as using the template in the Library; see Use Your Dashboard.
A connected AI assistant can also browse report datasets and build, save, and re-run reports on your behalf. That workflow is covered in Connect Your AI Assistant to LeaseOS. For accounting reports you run after a month-end close, see Close Your Books.
